What is a melodrama?

A Melodrama is an entertainment such as plays, films, and tv shows in which emotions are exaggerated. Usually the plot and characters are exaggerated with emotions. Some examples of melodramas are Soap Operas. Soap Operas use excessive amounts of emotions in there acting and ususally are about love and mysterys! They always have someone being murdered or cheating is usually happening in every episode.
